Journey Services counseling rates vary with counselor levels of licensure and experience.
Margaret’s standard rate for a 45-minute counseling session is $150. She is currently offering telehealth sessions at the discounted rate of $120 due to the increased need for online counseling.
Kim’s standard rate for a 45-minute counseling session is $120. She offers telehealth sessions for $100.
Block sessions or longer intensive counseling sessions can be arranged and will be prorated accordingly.
Fees are due at the time of the session. You may pay by cash, check, credit card, or HSA card.
The federal No Surprises Act went into effect January 1, 2022. It requires that I provide clients who self-pay with a Good Faith Estimate for the services they will receive. See below (NSA – Good Faith Estimate) for your rights under this new law.
Insurance
We do not provide in-network care for any insurance provider. However, if your insurance provider covers out-of-network mental health benefits, we can provide you with documentation of your treatment, so that you can file for your claims to be reimbursed.
We are glad to provide you with a monthly “superbill” that you file with your claim to your insurance company.
Please note that your insurance company may require us to diagnose you with a mental illness in order to utilize your benefit. For this reason, many clients elect to pay out of pocket for services.
If you want to use your insurance benefits, you can check your coverage by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health/counseling insurance benefits?
- Do I have Out of Network benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How much will I be reimbursed per counseling session?
- Do I need an authorization to see an Out of Network counselor?
We are happy to answer any questions you have or to arrange an appointment.
Affordable Counseling Rates
Please contact us if you have financial concerns about counseling and would like to explore options for more affordable counseling.
If you need to take advantage of your insurance, we may be able to assist you in finding an in-network counselor.
If you cannot afford our counseling rates, we would be glad to offer some referrals to lower-fee agencies or to counselors who may have a sliding fee scale.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate”
explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call 1-800-985-3059.
