- Maybe you are wondering what happened to my dream of a happy home, my “Happily Ever After”?
- Maybe you are discouraged by having the same argument over and over.
- Maybe you feel stuck navigating differences in values, faith, culture, or life goals.
- Maybe you are going through a season of broken trust or disconnection.
- Maybe you just want to strengthen your relationship or your conflict management skills.
Marriage counseling can help you face these challenges.
What will happen in marriage counseling?
Margaret primarily uses the Gottman Method for couples therapy to address your important relationship issues.
You will begin with an online assessment. Then you will meet for a session with both partners, followed by individual interviews. Then as a couple you will receive detailed feedback and, together with the counselor, plan sessions and strategies.
The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy in conflicting situations; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
What does marriage counseling cost?
The Gottman assessment is $40.
The standard counseling rate for individual counseling is $150 per 45-minute counseling session. On line discount is $120.
Couples and family counseling is generally more effective with longer sessions to give each partner time to be heard and together work through issues that arise. These can be scheduled as 75-minute sessions or 2–hour sessions.
